General Description

The purpose of this position is to supervise and teach the children attending the University’s Child Study Center in accordance with all relevant CSC and University policies and procedures.

Essential Job Duties

1. Oversee established activities which have been designed to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs of the children in the program. Provide various experiences and activities for children including songs, games and storytelling.
2. Promote a safe and secure environment for children to feel comfortable by ensuring that children are supervised at all times, ensure equipment and facility are clean, well maintained, and safe for the children. Be familiar with emergency procedures.
3. Follow established guidelines for recreational activities both indoor and outdoor. Monitor the children’s play activities to ensure safety.
4. Organize and monitor rest, meal, and snack times.

5. Clearly and effectively communicate in an appropriate manner that the children will understand. Provide positive guidance and build the children’s self-esteem.
6. Instruct children as directed in health and personal habits such as eating, resting, and bathroom habits.

High tolerance for stress.

Education and Experience

The educational requirement for this position is: High School Diploma or equivalent
Education substituted for experience? No

This position requires a demonstrated ability in working with young children.

CPR/first aid certification
